Amsterdam Music Project

I started out using music as a way to connect with other musicians and people in Amsterdam and to discover the city. We started with a few pop up events in the first few years of the project. Through AMP I organize and host intimate, high quality events, program artists for venues/events, consult, and manage artist bookings.

Beats on a Boat

My first success story. This was really about the community and bringing people together. All proceeds went to the musicians. Every event sold out right from the start.

Rooftop Jazz Club

100 tickets each show, €18 per person. We sold out every time for 3 years. One of my favourite concert series as we brought some of the best jazz musicians around to our intimate jazz club with a focus on the music and the experience.

Going online

After the first lockdown, we needed to come up with a solution for live music, and quick. AMP was chosen to pilot a project by Airbnb Experiences, 1 of only 20 worldwide. We started up "Hidden Houseboat Concert" and "The Secret Jazz Club" Online. Music every day, several times a day, from our small studio in Amsterdam Noord.

Building a community

As a music partner of venues like Zoku, I help build a community around music. When we started at Zoku almost 5 years ago, there were hardly any outside guests at the hotel bar. At one point we were told by management that they could no longer handle the sheer volume of guests and that we need to scale back (the bar even ran out of drinks).  A great problem to have.

Musician, Host and Performer

I love performing and I love my band, The Shaggy Greys. Performing my original music live gives me a whole new perspective and has taught me how to engage with people -- audience, management, musicians -- in a whole new way.
